Gong Li walks away from citizenship question in Beijing
Actress Gong Li (巩俐) appeared recently as glamorous as ever in Beijing for a L'Oreal event in what was likely her first public appearance in China since she took on Singaporean citizenship. At a press conference she revealed that she's been receiving lots of offers from Hollywood lately, and when asked if she had any plans to return to Chinese cinema, she said, "I've always had, I've always had." But when the question moved on to her citizenship, Gong Li promptly turned around, spoke to her minders and made a quick exit.

Malaysia’s Datuk Michelle Yeoh is back in her third Hollywood film this year.
IT WAS a blazing hot summer’s day in Beverly Hills and I was just about to check in at Four Seasons Hotel with fellow Malaysian journalists. Just as we were wondering whether we’d meet any Hollywood stars, a lilting laugh across the hotel lobby prompted us to turn around and look.
We spied a svelte Asian woman with wonderfully lithe limbs clad in a short, swingy summer dress with a group of Caucasians. While we were admiring her slender thighs, she turned around and what do you know? It was Malaysia’s very own Hollywood star Datuk Michelle Yeoh Choo Kheng.
As she disappeared into the next room, I could barely wait for my interview with her the following day. Bright and early next morning at nine, I made my way to the interview room and found that it was still dark. While I put down my stuff to look for the light switch, she practically bounced into the room exclaiming: “Why is it so dark in here?” Then, drawing the curtains to let the natural light into the room, she continued: “There, isn’t that better?”

Beautifull Chinese Actress, Zhang Ziyi
Born in Beijing, China, Zhang Ziyi joined the Beijing Dance Academy at the age of 11, and at 15 she entered China's prestigious Central Academy of Drama (regarded as the top acting college in China).
When her parents suggested she go to the dance academy, she was skeptical. While at the boarding school, she noticed how catty the other girls were while competing for status amongst the teachers. She would cry each night and morning, and on one occasion ran away from the school.
